A PLACE FOR GOOD
A PLACE FOR GOOD
Can you really lose yourself in a good book? I must admit that I have not read a book for pleasure in over 20 years maybe more. I am not proud of that fact, but it is true. Yes, I do know how. I have even bought several books, just never read them. I’ve bought self-help books and started them just never finished. That might explain some things. I even bought a popular novel to read on a long plane flight. Again, started it…
My parents are readers. They read for pleasure all the time. My mother is in a book club, maybe two. But both read all the time. I am seriously thinking there may be something to it. I mean people have been doing it forever, right. Maybe I just pick boring books. Maybe I’m just not willing to stick with it until it gets good. What’s funny is that with movies I will suffer through until the end thinking it must get better. Then when it’s over, I will be thinking why did I suffer through that whole thing. I’ve even gone back and watch a few again thinking that they couldn’t really be that bad, but they were. With books it seems like it’s just takes more effort and if I don’t get hooked in the first few pages, I just won’t keep reading. Maybe if I read more it won’t feel like that. But I need some “good” books to read.
So here is what I am going to do, and I hope you will be willing to help me. Please click on the link below and contact me with the name of your favorite novel. I will tell you that I am a 57 year old male and don’t think I would get through any of the Harlequin Romance novels. The last book I read all the way to the end was The Rainmaker by John Grisham. Yes, I did see the movie too.
If I successfully complete the novel that you recommend, I will email you back to thank you personally. I thank you in advance for reading this and sending me your suggestion. I am hoping to get a bunch of great books to read.
