A PLACE FOR GOOD
A PLACE FOR GOOD

All too often I speak with clients and friends who acknowledge the difficulty in reaching long term goals. At the end of the day, in most cases, it isn't a lack of desire or true intent when deciding to go for a goal, not at all.
It comes down to two things; #1 The misunderstanding or lack of foresight that, on the journey to reach any goal, that there will be forces, at times many working against you. # 2 Fear, plain and simple. Fear of facing the commitment they know deep inside it will take and how long it will really take to get there, the pain in change we all have to experience to grow and, believe it or not, the fear of success aka the "OK, now what?" feeling.
For some of us, it becomes comfortable and even normal existing in this state of disarray, with both ignored forces working against you in reaching your goals and where fear keeps you in a place are not fully engaged in where you are now, while not being committed to do whatever it takes to move forward. When these two forces are in play, every day we each allow this we reinforce these behaviors and beliefs and empower their negative effects on our mindset, mood, self-belief, drive, ambition and more. These effects even effect how we interact with our family, friends and in business as well as much more. How could they not when they are prohibiting us from being the person we truly want to be?
My advice is this; RUN INTO THE FIRE!
Understand and look in the eye of that which scares you from moving forward. Don't shy away from understanding all of the forces that will challenge you in reaching your goals. No excuses about your age, abilities challenges. We all have them and they are always going to be there. Examples include managing work, family obligations to both your spouse and children, unscheduled or unforeseen events, eating a balanced, planned diet as a way of life, staying hydrated (a must most people dismiss), financial pressures, maintaining your personal mindset and more.
Form a plan to manage those forces to your benefit, write it down, calendar it, commit to it, post visual reminders everywhere, surround yourself with positive input and friends, eliminate the negativity and naysayers, revisit your game plan several times a day, every evening and when you wake up and your mind is the clearest. BOMBARD YOUR MIND WITH POSITIVE THOUGHTS OF SUCCESS! OWN A "NO EXCUSES" MINDSET. Remember, it only takes a small hole to eventually sink a ship. DO NOT SELF SABOTAGE. Commit 10% to pay the price life charges us to grow and and succeed . Own the pain in change and thrive from the challenge. MAKE A TRUE COMMITMENT YOU CAN MAINTAIN. HOW? BY CELEBRATING EVERY MOMENT, SEEING THE SMALL INCREMENTAL SUCCESSES EVERY DAY THAT WILL PROPEL AND RE-FUEL YOU TO GREATNESS EVERY HOUR OF EVERY DAY. The simple fact that we are each alive to make the most of another day god has granted us is reason enough for me to begin every day I awake.
Form your plan, write it down and stop bullshitting yourself that you will succeed otherwise - you won't. Everyone needs a written plan. I didn't say a project, I said a plan, simple or detailed, whatever work for you. Your strongest opponent, your own mindset needs a written, reviewed and reinforced daily plan and commit to prevent fatigue from the effort it will take.
Keep a journal, record your achievements daily. I don't care what your goal is, DO NOT focus on the end result, that only positions you for failure the first time an outside force hits you and takes you off track. Instead, and a much more pleasant method, is to focus of the small steps in the right direction you make daily to get there. You want to crush your bad, self defeating habits that take you down - THEN OWN UP TO THEM AND BE CONSCIOUS OF THEM ALWAYS.
As an common example let's talk weight loss. Forget the end goal! Who cares if you want to lose 20 pounds! It doesn't matter! Focus on your diet that works for you and make it a way of life. If you lose an ounce a day you are on the right path, a slow one, LOL, but the right path in the right direction and that is A WIN TO CELEBRATE! If on the other hand you go in the wrong direction the mystery of why that happened will not occur, you'll know, re-commit immediately compensate getting you back on the right path. Allow yourself to celebrate every day, while also moving forward, getting comfortable being uncomfortable, facing your fears and being empowered by the small successes that will eventually carry you to success.
RUN INTO THE FIRE! TAKE IT ON! OWN IT! STAY AT IT HARD FOR AT LEAST 90 DAYS WITH INCREDIBLE CONSCIOUSNESS. That is how long it takes to establish the primary habits and behaviors you will need to continue on your path, your journey as a way of life thereafter.
RUN INTO THE FIRE!
YOUR SUCCESS IS WAITING ON THE OTHER SIDE!
DON'T DEPRIVE YOURSELF, YOU DESERVE IT!
